  98. This package contains the WP Booklet System v2.40, by Alex D. Ogden.
  99. This document contains only a brief description of the package and its
  100. features, along with instructions for its installation.  Quite detailed
  101. documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived form,
  102. and is more easily read after installation.

  104. WP Booklet is a shareware program.  You may use this evaluation version
  105. of WP Booklet for up to 30 days, without charge.  If you like the
  106. program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you
  107. are required to pay the registration fee of $15+S&H (see ORDER.FRM for
  108. more details). Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors,
  109. dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their
  110. copying and distribution services, rather than a payment for continued
  111. use of the program.

  115. handling of codes spanning the page breaks, and the ability to print

  136. ===== Installation =====================================
  137.  
  138. The installation procedure for WP Booklet is quite simple.  The
  139. package includes a batch file, "INSTALL.BAT", which automates the
  140. entire process.  You will need about 350,000 bytes of available disk
  141. space on the hard drive on which you plan to install WP Booklet.
  142.  
  143. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  144. WP Booklet.
  145.  
  146. INSTALLING FROM A DISKETTE ----------------------------------------
  147.  
  148. To install from a diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  149.  
  150.    o  Place the WP Booklet distribution diskette in the appropriate
  151.       diskette drive.
  152.  
  153.    o  Change the default drive to the diskette drive in which the WP
  154.       Booklet distribution diskette has been placed.  For example, if
  155.       the distribution diskette is in drive A:, type the MS-DOS command,
  156.       "a:".
  157.  
  158.    o  Execute "INSTALL.BAT" on the distribution diskette by typing the
  159.       MS-DOS command, "install".
  160.  
  161.    o  You will have the option of installing WP Booklet using default
  162.       settings or performing a custom installation.  If you choose to
  163.       perform a custom installation you will be prompted for each piece
  164.       of information needed.  You will have a chance to approve
  165.       installation before anything is actually done.
  166.  
  167.    o  NOTE:  INSTALL.BAT stores information in environment variables for
  168.              use later in the installation process.  It is possible on
  169.              some systems the environment would not have enough room. If
  170.              so, the installation process will fail and you will be
  171.              instructed to make more room in your environment or to
  172.              proceed to install the files manually.
  173.  
  174.    o  As a part of the installation procedure the WordPerfect program
  175.       will be started and a special macro, "SETPATH.WPM", will be
  176.       activated to finish the installation process.

  178. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE --------------------------------------
  179.  
  180. If you downloaded WP Booklet from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  181. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  182. following steps.
  183.  
  184.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  185.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  186.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  187.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  188.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  189.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  190.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  191.       the package.
  192.  
  193.    o  Change the default drive and directory to the diskette drive and
  194.       temporary directory in which the WP Booklet distribution files
  195.       have been placed.  For example, if the temporary directory into
  196.       which you have extracted the WP Booklet package is C:\TEMPDIR,
  197.       you would first type "c:", if you were not already on drive C,
  198.       and then execute the MS-DOS command, "cd\tempdir".
  199.  
  200.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.BAT" program which you have extracted by
  201.       typing the MS-DOS command, "install".
  202.  
  203.    o  You will have the option of installing WP Booklet using default

  225. PERFORMING A MANUAL INSTALLATION ----------------------------------
  226.  
  227. If for some reason INSTALL.BAT will not work properly on your system,
  228. you can install the files manually.
  229.  
  230.    o  Create a new subdirectory to hold the files comprising the WP
  231.       Booklet System.  Assuming the path to your WordPerfect macros is
  232.       C:\WP51\MACRO\, you would execute the MS-DOS command, "md
  233.       c:\wp51\macro\wpbklt24".  This will create the subdirectory
  234.       WPBKLT24 within your current macro subdirectory.
  235.  
  236.    o  Activate the self extracting ZIP file provided to extract the
  237.       files into the new WPBKLT24 subdirectory.  Assuming the
  238.       distribution files are on a diskette in drive A type "a:\wpbklt24
  239.       c:\wp51\macro\wpbklt24".  You should see the files extracted
  240.       straight into their proper place.
  241.  
  242.    o  To finish the manual installation invoke WordPerfect in your usual
  243.       way.  At the main editing screen activate the special macro
  244.       (SETPATH.WPM) designed to tell WP Booklet where everything is
  245.       located.  Assuming the path to the macros comprising the system is
  246.       C:\WP51\MACRO\WPBKLT24, to activate SETPATH press Alt-F10 and at
  247.       the "Macro: " prompt type "c:\wp51\macro\wpbklt24\setpath" and
  248.       press Enter.  SETPATH.WPM will take you through the steps
  249.       necessary to specify the path to the macros and to create an
  250.       activation macro for the system.  Once all is finished you will
  251.       only need to remember the name of your activation macro, not the
  252.       long path to the WP Booklet files.

  254. YOU'RE READY TO GO ------------------------------------------------
  255.  
  256. Once you've complete the installation, you should consult the
  257. documentation file provided ("WPBKLT24.DOC").  In particular, read at
  258. least the "Essential Steps In Using WP Booklet" section of the file.

  260. To invoke WP Booklet, activate the macro you specified during
  261. installation to be the activation macro.  For example, if you said
  262. "BOOKLET" would be the macro to activate WP Booklet, then at the main
  263. editing screen of WordPerfect press Alt-F10 and at the "Macro: " prompt
  264. type "booklet" and press Enter.  If you chose an Alt-key sequence, like
  265. "Alt-B", to activate WP Booklet, then simply press the Alt-key sequence,
  266. in this case press and hold down the Alt key and then press "B".  WP
  267. Booklet will begin.
